Friday 19th cast and blast (non yak)

planning on heading up to the Sutter bypass to pass shoot ducks and geese.  The weather front coming in should make for a good shoot.  Lots of cat fish in the channel, might bring a rod along with. 

Preliminary questions.

1 Where is Sutter bypass at?
2 And will you be shooting from the yak?
3 Do you have a dog?
Might be able to work something out.

I do have a dog, he is still a pup, but does well on the ground.  I do need to pair him with a good dog for a day to get the water retrieve down.  The Sutter bypass is just south of Yuba City.  Friday BigGabe and his boy are coming, Gunny, and I.  Lots of room for guys to join us, and spread out.  Should be a good shoot with the weather changing and all.  This will be on dry ground, yaks are not too practical there.

Hey Guys, first post here. I got out for my first delta paddle with Montana last week. Had a great paddle with great company, but unfortunately the geese weren't cooperating. Did enjoy a warm November evening on the water and Montana was able to boat a striper trolling back to the launch.

Unfortunately (not really) it looks like on Friday I'll be driving out to find me a thunder chickin this weekend (of course the first weekend with good waterfowl weather I'll be out drenched and combing the hillsides, figures). Anyway, hope you guys knock 'em dead at Sutter!

What's the plan for meeting up? If no dog, how are we retreiving in the water if they land there? Are you hunting in between the 2 channels in the open field area? Add me to the list, I'm in.

I have my kayak on my truck, and if we sail a duck out into the water, when the shoot is done, we can launch and retrieve.  Usually there is someone there with a dog that can help with water retrieves too.  Never had an issue with lost birds yet, my pup has either found them, or I went out in my kayak and gotten them.  BigGabe, his son, and I will be at the bypass around 0530 in the morning, down the road from the gate about 300 yards is where I like to set up.  My dog is a yellow lab, about knee high, can't miss us.

Which road crossing, 113, franklin, or? east or west side. Are you talking about the Sutter wildlife area, or just in the bypass itself. You can reach me by phone too.
