Sorry for the late hookup notice. Anyhow, I've been getting some good report from
my shore fishing buddies of their success with some big stripers. I'll be launching
3rd street around 6:30am right after I pickup some bullheads. Off the water by
noon high tide. I hope some of you can make it. I'm calling in from work. I need to
cure this sickness of not being able to kayak fish in a while. :smt044 :smt044

Is the 3rd street launch also known as the Benicia Marina?  Where do you plan on fishing?

Hey Shellback, it is actually W3rd street then make a right at WH street. It's a circle right next to a beach. I choose to launch here instead for it is sand rather than mud. BTW, Benicia bait and tackle still have some bullheads. All the bait shops around here seems to be running out of them quickly.

Why not launch at 9th Street which has a nice boat launch?  Are you planning to fish around 1st Street area?

Since I've not gone pass 1st street before, I figured this would cut half the distance. I know the fish should be all around that area but my friends had
better luck fishing under the Martinez/Concord bridge. We'll see tomorrow. We may
not even get that far before we catch our limits. I hope I'm not shooting myself in
the foot. :smt005 :smt005

Why not launch at First Street then?  If I can make it, I'll launch at First Street.

Is it muddy there? If I can remember right, someone had
mentioned being stuck in the mud. If you can make it
then first street it is. I'm done getting setup for tomorrow.
It's just the matter of loading in the morning.

It can be muddy at minus tide.  Low tide is at 6:13am and 0.8ft so if you launch around 7am you should be OK.
