I caught a few fun waves on my surfboard and later tried to
catch a few BSPs, but it didn't happen for me.
First BSP skunk  :smt010. Bait guys got some tiny ones,
but in general, I think the fish were just not plentiful.
tide swing was small, but strong sideshore current, plus waves pretty far out there.
I had a 2oz egg and my line was always tight due to current,
not sure it was on the bottom. 1.5" kalin perch power, always worked for me before.
also tried a 3" rootbeer powergrub, and even
a 3" big hammer swimbait just for the heck of it.

Last tuesday morning I took my two boys to capitola
pier (day after MLK day, they had it off), they were using
real hooks for the first time, squid tipped 1.5" perch power grubs,
we got skunked there too, older boy got one bite, it got wrapped around a piling.
They had fun, but I'm getting tired of going fishing and not catching,  :smt009.
I guess that rockfish complex has me spoiled.

For lexington, I have been using my own red worms and white grubs from my backyard,
but on the way home I stopped by fisherman's warehouse and got a dozen nite crawlers,
never done that before. my plan is to make a lap around the shore of
lexington on wednesday morning,  dodger or no-hook-firetiger-frenzy-rattler-diver-lure
and threaded nite crawler in tow.  kickfish says it needs some more plants before it gets going tho,
so I'm expecting the skunk again. hey, 5 in a row, what's one more?  :smt011

Alien & I headed out today for my first go at perching.  Started yesterday by pulling my rod out of storage, replacing my line, & buying some egg sinkers and grubs.  Met up with Alex this morning(more like lunchtime) & headed down to Manresa beach.:fish

Walking up & down the beach, the perching seemed to be pretty slow.:(  We tried two spots & ended with 4 BSP each.:fishing1  We each kept two & released two.

Alex offered to take a pic or two to remember my first BSP... but I was too engrossed in fishing to stop  :smt005

I used 8# test, 3/4oz sinker, & 1.5" perch power grub.

Thanks Alex!   :smt003
