Where is the nearest launching point?

Any info on parking? I know it will be a zoo, but thinking of giving it a try if the Giants have a day game during the playoffs

We launch at the house boat canal upstream from the Mission Bay Park. Paddle under the two draw bridges. Beware of the tides as if it is an extreme high you will have trouble getting under the bridges...been there ...done that.

According to the security guards it's not cool to launch at the park. Respect the house boat people's flowers and it should be cool. I slide my kayak under one the ramps to the house boat docks. Oh, prepare to get muddy if the tide is low. It's all part of the "adventure"!

I would park in the pay lots if you are going to a night game.

There's a park on the other (north) side that has a kayak dock.  UCSF has a kayak program there.  Also has a nice hoop court and sand volleyball!  Right under the 280 extension before it dumps onto King St.

Marin Schoolie, in the pic you posted, is that the park in the background? Is the gate in the pic locked, public?
Also, if parked there, how safe is it? I'm thinking of going for a night game.
Thanks.
If you don't know where you're headed, any road could get you there.

I believe that is where I launched back in '07 for the All-Star game's Home Run derby.  Man, what blast that was.  I still need to post some pics.

Park is behind me in that pic - closest intersection is 6th & Berry St.  If I remember right, no meters and no restrictions in that area, but there were no spots open on the street at noon mid week when I was there.  Here's a couple more pics I found.  First pic is of a shed where UCSF keeps their yaks.  2nd pic is taken from Berry St. looking towards the dock, with the last new high rise condo building on the left.  It's a public dock but I remember a sign that said it is locked/closed at a certain time so might not be so good for night game.

Stopped by there today (I work nearby) to check out the hours - 6am-10pm.  But if they locked the gate on you it would be easy to get yourself and your yak around it - see pic above.  It's a really nice park (except for it being directly under a freeway!) and would be a great place to hang out, bring some food, then launch.  As I mentioned before, parking is unrestricted on Berry St. (btw 7th & 5th; closer to the park turns into 1hr. parking until 10pm during baseball season).  It was jammed again today mid day, but I'm guessing its from UCSF/Mission Bay workers wanting to park for free and spots may open up closer to 5pm.  If its from residents (lots of appartments/condos), then it may not open up at all...

M.S., thanks for the park info. It adds to what I found out about it online. I've got a handicapped placard, so I have a lot of flexibility with regards to parking.
I'm not going for Thursday's night game, but will try for the first day game after that.

It won't be until the next round should they make it that far.  Even then, most NLCS games are at night, so their next home day game could be next year.

Although you could sit out there Sunday while they're playing in Atlanta. :smt044   It's a 1:30 PST start time.

There's a rest. and bar just a little bit south. It's called the ramp. Been a while since I've been there, but parking was easy and there's a reason they call it the ramp. Just south of Kelly's Mission Rock.
