Do you do anything to seal the unused (second) set of pins coming out of the head unit to prevent corrosion etc?  Thanks!

DEFINITELY!  I sealed mine with 3M Marine Silicone.  I figured I could pull the silicone out of there if I really wanted to use that port for anything in the future (but probably never will).  I think this is a really important step to keeping the electronics in good shape and sealed up.

I just got mine, thanks for the tip!  Sean, if you see this, what size plug do you recommend from sealcon?

Thanks Erik for confirming my suspicions.

Pescadore-Too funny.  I was on the phone with Sealcon for about 30 minutes today, so I think I can answer correctly.  You want a CD16NA-BK with a solid insert (plug with no holes).  Don't forget to order the nut that goes with it.  Put the whole assembly in the freezer for a few hours and drill the holes for the cables in the insert.  Drill with the insert in while its in the fitting so its easier to hold.  According to Sealcon the rubber insert will drill like a dream when frozen. Then let it thraw and make a slit to each hole so you can have a small hole in the insert without cutting the plug off of the cables.

Maybe you get a better deal through Sealcon... but this wire seal from West Marine is pretty darn slick.  Has an iris that closes around the cord when the cap is tightened... no plugs necessary.  When the cap is loose, the hole in the iris is large enough to pass the cord and plug from the Fisheasy 240 through with ease.  $9.99.

Eric, that looks like what I need, but I need 2.  Sean, how do the sealcon prices compare?

Thanks for the help.

Sealcon is essentially 1/2 price, but its only $5.00 vs $10.00
