Official Blast and Cast thread Oct 5 or 6

Was hoping to get 1 or 2 of you to join me in the Oroville Afterbay on Oct 5 or 6, or both. Plan on hunting Honkers early, then bass fishing for a few hours while still "packing heat" just in case. Posting now so hunting licenses etc can be readied before hand. I've seen a lot of birds there recently and am really looking forward to shootin some. The bass have been good lately too. Hopefully all the geese don't get chased away the 3 days before. Only open from Oct 2-6.

I was planning on being there on Sat/Sun with the puppy and yak. May try to see if a midweek extension might work for me. I expect there will be quite a few people out there on the 2nd on so things might be a bit spooked out by the 5th. Bassin' should be good though.

I'm racing over the weekend so I can't get out then. Post report if you go.

I'll be out the 2nd & 3rd, location not yet determined but most likely will stick closer to home.

Looks like an overnighter up on Shasta for me.  Fishing rods, shotgun, deer rifle, and any other instruments of death I can fit in the boat.  I LOVE the fall!!!!!

Anyone been out yet? Any luck? Hoping for good results/info.

I overnighted up on Shasta in my boat, had shotguns/rifles/rods/beers...managed a few trout but blanked on the hunting, never heard or saw a single goose.  Looking out my office window, I see about 80 birds sitting on the river right now.  Damn city limits!
