I just got a call from my brother in san jose saying a plane possibly went down in san bruno...  i have no coverage down here but am worried about people i know there - please update me if you know of anything on specific streets affected.  i just checked kpix web site and it looks like 30+ houses are burning ... best thoughts going out

My bro-in-law just picked me up from my chemo treatment today and we saw the the flame erupt from Hwy. 280 while heading North Bound. The initial news radio report said it was between 280 and 380 so we avoided the route and took Skyling Blvd to avoid the traffic to get home.....sure enough, we ended up 100 yards away from the 50 foot flames! We could feel the intense heat as we drove by. The initial radio news report was obvioulsy WAAAY OFF  :smt011

The sad part is that I have a friend who lives in the same very area  :smt011 I tried calling her but got no connection at all. I sent here a message through facebook.

JK - I believe the news already mentioned the street names affected - Crestmoore?

kpix is reporting not a plane crash - possibly a gas line

I just heard from my buddy - he wasn't at his house but doesnt think he is affected.

Mooch - that must have been crazy - it kinda reminded me of the oakland hills fire from what i saw on the web - i don't get any bay area channels down here but looked huge from the helicopter raw footage online

JK...I believe Crestmoore is the name of the community.

Just got word from my friend....she and her family is fine. Her house in fairly close by and still intact. Got my van ready and offered her help if she needed any. Still waiting to hear back.

just heard from my friend that no one was home at the time and that they found out about it through the news feed. They saw their house and it was still intact. She got an burglar alarm report and believe the firemen are inside their house right now.

The area is right next to Crystal Springs reservoir - Lot's of water for air lifts.

My roommate just came home and hes pretty involved with the red cross.  He's on his way there to help set up shelters and offer support, said he'd be there all night, and they called everybody on the list to volunteer  :smt009

Not sure if you guys heard or not, but Joe (Panfish Popper) from Imhooked/Fishsniffer in is critical condition with burns over 50% of his body, his girlfriend Jessica did not make it out of the house alive.   :smt010
They are doing a blood drive and will be asking for donations at the imhooked website.
We had a bat ray fish day on Saturday with friends from Stripesonline and we are donating the pot for the biggest ray to him.
