After two consecutive outings for WSB with zero fish accounted for, I am feeling the need to wipe the skunk off.  Saturday looks like the only fishable day on the pacific during this long weekend so I am thinking of somewhere on the SMC.  I am currently thinking about HMB, EKG or PP.  I'll update later this afternoon depending on response.  If response is non-existent then I will go to HMB and launch at around 7:00 AM.

I was thinking of going to HMB as well, although I'm not sure I can make it that early because of a date this evening. Maybe 8-ish arrival. Mrs. Finaegelin wants some sardines, which I can get in the harbor I suppose. Where will you be heading if I get there late and want to chase you?

I'll PM you the details once I know for sure.  I will also be on channel 69.  If you hail me a few times, if I am around, I will respond with my position.

I'm interested in HMB. Right now planning on launching ~7 AM, then head out the jaws toward the reefs. Red Hobie Quest. Fly fishing.

What are you paddling?

Never took my yak off the car from yesterday.  I'll see you there.

I'm a newbie to the west coast, have been kayak fishing back east for a number of years.  I'll be fishing vertically at hmb tomorrow am as well (15.5 ft wilderness systems touring yak).  Anyone willing to post or send me the name of the launching site y'all will be using tomorrow?  Would be good to be on the same piece of water with y'all.

Tight lines.

Okay, guys, I am not going to make the HMB hookup tomorrow.  However, I will leave this post here for those who wish to continue this hookup.  I have found the easiest place to launch is to park on the street next to the motor home park south of Sam's Chowder House.  Pull your yak to the beach to the right of the jetty as you look toward the ocean.  The launch is easy and then just paddle out of the harbor to the reef.  I wish you all luck!

Thank you Michael, that is a huge help (have only been in the west coast for 6 weeks).  I have enjoyed reading all of your posts, and will post after this weekend regardless of outcome.  I will plan at launching by 7 tomorrow.  Thanks again,

Thanks for the update, Bink.  See you on the next trip.

Nice day on the water today.  Great to meet some of the ncka crew.  Cruised with Sirius approx 8-2.  Not too many bites, managed a couple non-keeper lings (15 and 20 inches) and a tiny black bass looking thing.  Was great to be on the water tho and look fwd to hitting up more spots soon. Def looking fwd to some surf put-ins and put outs while trying to avoid yard sales, in the near future.
