Isleton launch spot? Also, fishing suggestions?

My father will be up in mid-April and staying in Isleton.  I'm wondering if there's a place to launch kayaks up there and, if so, what to target once we're out?

He's a fly-fishing guy but he'd be willing to tow a flasher or something if he could only hook up!  Any delta hints greatly appreciated.

Check out what is called The Meadows, not always labeled that on charts, it's an area of interconnected narrow waterways with old growth oaks and poplars,  near Walnut Grove, enter just north of  the Cross-Delta water diversion gate, go north about 1/2 mile on dirt road, launch on primitive ramp into slough overhung with large trees and vines, very nice, protected waterways. I've taken a canoe in there on windy days and been protected. I've seen bass boats in there, but I don't know anything about the fishing. The water is much warmer than the ocean, but cool enuf so you get chilled after 15 mins of swimming.If you've driven I-5 between Sacto and Lodi and seen the huge TV towers to the west, near Twin Cities Road and Lost Slough, you were pretty close.  The Meadows is near the town of Locke, an old Chinese settlement of old wooden buildings that has a must-see "atmosphere" restaurant, Al the Wop's, where the menu is grilled steak served with toast and a jar of peanut butter.  Other colorful Delta dives within a short drive. Easy to fall into a Delta state of mind.
 I can probably give better directions to the launch if you need, and if I looked at a chart.Speaking of which, you'll need one if you don't want to get too lost in The Meadows.

There is lots of great fishing through out the whole area. The stripers should be in full swing at that point. Can fly fish with streamers for stripers or troll broken back rebels. I can try and get out there that weekend.
