Nice! Are those all younger "bachelors"? Two really nice racks in that group.

In Loving Memory of Mooch, Eelmaster, Shicken, and Cabeza De Martillo

I started kayak fishing to get away from most of you...

Those are some dandies, a few rag horns in the mix.  As soon as they start to shed they will be breaking off and going nuts.  My uncle said he heard the first bugle last night.  A couple of those bulls will go 320ish, but the big boys are up high, and should be coming down to gather cows soon.  Cannot wait to stick one.  Bringing the kayaks too to fish the mountain lakes in the afternoon between hunts.  Tell me again why I am in California? That's right, there is no work up there.......

I am heading up next month leaving the night of the 17th and coming back the 26th.  Anyone that wants to tag along is more than welcome.  We will be camping at a high mountain lake with great fishing, and hiking out of camp everyday to hunt.  I should not say anyone, but I have room for four guys to tag along.  You can also buy a whitetail doe tag over the counter for 75 dollars, and I can put you onto some deer at the ranch in the hay fields. (archery)

Wow... I envy you.  You're going on my dream hunt.  I really want to take a bull elk with my bow.

We need to talk.  Perhaps, we can set something up for next year.

Coincidently, I'm heading out with few well known ncka'ers this weekend for an archery buck hunt up north.  I hope to have some bacon wrapped backstrap on the grill this same time next week.

Have a fun back in Montana and good luck.  I'd love to see a report and pics.

Wow!

I have already set up my hunting trip for this year so I couldn't swing a second trip regardless of how good it is.

I would definitely be interested in next year though.

Good luck and have a great hunt.
Tied for last place 2010 A.R.W. halibut tournament

Next year we can apply as a party, the deadline is March 15th, so keep that in mind.  It is $685 for a combo license, so if you plan on putting in with me, start saving now so it is not a big hit in the spring.  The best part is, accomodations are next to nothing once there, and my family and I have hunted there all our lives, so it is like a guided hunt.  Horses and four wheelers are there, so all we need is gear, some chow, and camping gear.  My truck will hold all of us, so sharing gas money will be super cheap.  If you do not tag out in bow season, the tags are still good for riffle.  Antlerless tags are over the counter for whitetail for $75, and mule deer antlerless tags are a drawing for the same amount.  A lot of people frown on shooting does, but I hunt for meat, and you are actually doing the herd a favor by harvesting some of them.  Occassionally, they let you buy elk "B" tags, which is an additional elk tag for a cow elk in addition to your "A" tag.  High probability of filling all the tags in one week, if you can shoot well out to 60 yards.  Anyhow, hit me up after new years and we will put it together.  Fishing is out of this world too, and they are not truck trout, and actually taste good.

My feelings exactly.  I plan on buying a few doe tags so the kids can have some fun hunting, and also load me up for the year on red meat.
