Uniden Voyager squelch knob stuck...

I've been using this Voyager for a long time and obviously haven't been taking the best care of it. Not only has the battery clip broken but now the squelch knob is fused to the volume knob. They're stacked on top of each other so turn together which means a lot of very loud static. Any ideas for getting it unstuck? So far I've tried using WD40 with no luck.

Mine is starting to stick like that too...I need to clean it better after each use I guess!!

WD40 would have been my guess...hope you find something that works!!

I've used some stuff called "master mechanic' that unsticks stuff that even wd-40 won't unstick.
My father-in-law gave me a can of it when i was pulling the rusted suspension from a truck. No idea where he got it, I'm sure it isn't enviro-friendly, but it does work.

Here's what I did years ago when this happened to me... You can pull the rubber knobs off pretty easily.  Apply some silicone lube or dielectric grease or other lube of choice to the metal spindles and work it in until the two spindles move freely, then push the rubber knobs back on.
