I would ping Alan Tani, knowing him he might have what you need fo rit. He hooked up very old obsolete reel for me.

i want to catch one day's worth of fish with it then retire it.... if i can get my hands on a decent bamboo rod, i will make sure that i get pictures of it being in use...  i was pretty excited when i realized how old it was... I will for sure have to put a leash on that thing!

I'd think you'd have to go spectra if you can'y find a spool of old linnen line.....mono wouldn't be able to hang with that wooden drag.  I'd also bathe it in corosion x before and after.

Hi Yakers:

I would use it for Display only. I wouldn't go fishing with Gear that might fail and finding replacement parts that will be hard  to find. :smt044

I dunno Ernie, if the drag burns out you just find another piece of wood :smt044

Ouch!

Someone must have a reel of old dacron rock cod line that might work on it. I fish a party boat once a year & there's still a couple guys fishing roller tipped broomsticks with rail plates on them, and reels with 80lb dacron and huge lever handles...

Hi Yakers:

It's like Driving on Hwy 101 in a Model A on the Fourth. Looks cool but, I would rather have a Goat! (GTO) :smt005
