Thanks you to Allen/02B for showing me how to set up my revo the right way!  :smt001
Pics 1 & 2 are where I mounted the rod holder ball so it wouldn't interfere with how the paddle sits in it's notches. Note this ram ball mount is not the plastic one that came with the rod holder. I broke the original plastic one & the aluminum replacement ball mount w/o hardware was $14.50 shipped or about $25.00 locally with the hardware.
One tip to holding the lock-nuts in the backing plate for the rod holders is to put a piece of duct tape over it to hold them in.
Pics 3 & 4 are the easier to use hatch straps. Pics 5-7 are how I close the hatch without scooting up to far.
And pics 8-9 are of my 'gear holders' saltwater proof spring-loaded retractors for my pliers & my lip gripper. I never remove these, retractors or tools, off of the kayak. jim

Thanks for sharing Jim. I can't believe the base of the rod holder is actually flush
onto the side of the kayak. I will mount my holder as soon as I get back from my
Monterey trip. Have a good one bro and thanks again.

I've got one more tip or more of a warning I guess. I just broke my left hand rudder line again but this time I think I know how. It seems when I throw my minnow bucket in the water and drag it along behind me it sometimes pushes on or gets caught on the rudder. I even remember pulling on the minnow bucket rope to retrieve the bucket and it wouldn't come so I pulled even harder. SNAP! I'll bet that broke the rudder line. I guess I'll have to shorten the rope so the bucket can't get back near the rudder. I just hate it when the bucket bangs against the side of the kayak spooking fish. Guess I'll be buying a hobie bait tank when I can afford it. jim

PS: If anyone wants to sell their tank I may be interested.

I have my Ram Mounts mounted right behind the seat on both the Revo and the Adventure. This way they never get in the way of the deck, the rod is right at my finger tips while trolling and I can stand them straight up and use them any way I see fit. I usually keep my billy club in one for quick access.

This guy wants $200 for it.  You might want to make a "reasonable" offer to him:

Thanks for the heads up Sonny!

I work in Santa Clara so if you bought it from him, I can pick it up for you so you don't have to drive all the way to San Jose.
