After last night, I loaded again for an early morning session.
Sunrise with Point Dume in the background

Rockfish and a nice Calico were the only ones biting.
Landed safely.  On the water for maybe 3 hours.  Kind of Slow.

That looks like a pretty big one. How big do you think it is?

I threw him back so I'm guessing around 5lb.  Who knows?

Dymara twin is my early morning special.  And when the sun is up I switch over to plastics.
I like this twin because it makes noise.  When it is still dark out, you need that advantage to wake up the fish.

I've been using some special coffee-flavored plastic for the early morning fish.
half-caf, double latte, cinnamon sprinkle seems to be the favorite.   :smt005

So the dymara thing is working out then! good to know. what did the calico hit?
spoon or plastic?

The Calico hit the twin spoon and dove into the kelp.
Good thing I have 30lb test on, if I had something like 12, I am sure I would have lost him.
Havn't caught a Halibut on the twin spoon.  That is the real test.

Spectra 30lb-50lb with a top shot of mono.
The mono was 30lb.  About 3 feet on top of the spectra.
I use the Albright knot to keep them together.  Works muy bueno
