Jenkinson/Caples Non-Yak 6-18

Had to work up the hill so decided to shore fish Jenkinson(Sly Park). No love at all. Little six year old caught a nice stocker next to me. Decided to try the road to Caples. Open. When I got to the lake,  found the full lake free of ice. Snow all around. A little windy and cold. I only had shorts and light sweatshirt on. Started killing the planter rainbows w/Powerbait. Only thing  I really had to use. Chartreuse, rainbow, red, did not matter. Worms were working for others too. used a couple lures, but no luck. They must be hungary. Fish are thin. Memorial weekend the lake was frozen solid according to another fisherman. I would assume from the lack of ice that high, most lakes around should be fishable now. Sorry, no pics

Thanks for the intel. We were thinking about heading that way later today but wasn't sure of the road was open or not.

That's why I posted Tote. The sign said road closed, but saw quite a few cars. Had to dodge a few road rocks too. Gate at top of hill had a lot of gravel around it. Figured road had just opened for this weekend.
