anyone hear about that guy keith at Loch Lomond.?
I just called another bait shop and was told that Keith at LL was in the news yesterday...supposedly he got busted w/out a permit for some traps.

need to confirm this but thought this may be pertinent for anyone hoping to get shiners before the Hali tournament sat.

The F*&kin' guy charges you an arm AND a leg for the things. U think he could break bread on that permit... any ways. Discount mart-bay tackle, in the east bay, has live mud suckers and bull heads(maybe not your first choice) but they will work. Only problem is He  opens up at 9am! so get um the day before maybe?
I like to have fun.......

Or why not just pick up live anchovies at either berkeley or fishermans wharf! I already called and they said they will have anchovies over the weekend! u could even get them at the bait and tackle shop above the marina off of university ave. for $8 dozen! you'll get a better deal tho if u walk down to the k dock at the marina and just buy them off of the bait guys!

Mikes bait in Oakland is the place for shiners. I don't remember how much but they always seem like a bargain to me and his bait is in great shape. I've never had one die on me before it went for a swim with a new piercing.

Without circulating cold bay water your anchovies wont last very long. Keith may be a prick sometimes but overall hes OK in my book. He has a couple of bullhead and shiner traps. Who gives a shit! DFG has bigger fish to fry than that for sure. The last time Jim told me he paid a buck each at Mikes.  The tides will suck for making bait possibly but there were clouds after clouds of bait at ARW last Sunday. Bring your sabikis.

thanks for the input guys.
re: live anchovies from the Berkeley Marina...I like that guy..he comped me with a half scoopful for me to see for myself that they weren't going to make it...but then I put them in trays and froze them up just like the pricey packages..I hope to use them on a RSK and see how they work.. I fiugre the fresher the better, even if dead..

re: LochKeith..yeah I didn't care for him much initially..but after a couple endorsements from some good NCKAers..I figured  Igive him the benefit of the doubt.

I will hit Mikes in morning.
thanks for the input guys.

Dave, if you're going to make it to the ARW tournament this weekend, it's on Sunday, not Saturday.

We got shiners once, and the red tide was in and all the bait was dead.  He still nailed us full price for dead bait!  GN ended up with a leopard out of it, but still, we should have just bought bag bait.
Live your life, the way you want to be remembered. Don't have any regrets, we only get this one dance to make it count. Start at your eulogy, and work backwards.
