I'm sick of all these posts from people getting skunked in Capitola and New Brighton. It is time to let the cat out of the bag. Yesterday I caught 3 stripers fishing live sardines on halibut rigs by posting up in the bait balls right off shore. They where about 5lbs, 8lbs and 13lbs.  I also lost one that must have been 15+lbs. it snapped my 30lb leader like it was nothing after running 100  yards. Today I landed 5 halibut. They where all small. The biggest was 23 inches but hey that's dinner. I also heard of a 10 lb'er caught of fresh dead bait from the shore! Also a friend caught a 28 inch and a 26 inch halibut on live sardines. I don't have any pics but all of what i say is the truth. I guess i could go take a picture of the hallis in the cooler but i gave away two of the stripers already and I'm exhausted.
