I added a 4 foot chain to my anchor and had to see if would hold today. So I went to Rossmoor at around 4pm.

My over kill anchor...



It worked like a champ. I was able to hold in the main current real well. So I worked the right side of the river for nothing. Then went back up and worked the left side.





The shad seem all fat this year.

Heres another kinda sloppy video of a net and release. Just trying to show these slimy stinky fish are a lot of fun :)

I haven't used them yet, but I've read they are the BEST crab bait going. If you go crabbing I'd suggest you keep a few for the pots. Apperently they are very oily fish that milks real well. Not to mention fun on the end of a rod....

Those are tons of fun on ultra-light gear and they make for pretty good sturgeon bait too.
The fishing was so good I thought I was there yesterday!
