"The swells off Ocean Beach on Sunday were 6 to 8 feet, Pichette said. He said he did not know whether the bodies were found wearing life jackets.

Saw this on the News....

The Ocean was Angry, about as bad as it gets...

they had to risk life and limb just to recover the bodies off the rocks

F!!

6 to 8 isn't too bad.  There HAS to be something else going on here, like a mechanical incident, keeled over during a tack...something!  damn shame, RIP

yup,its not open water 6-8 foot swell.  There was heavy sustained winds and big tides....that makes for a very ugly gate crossing.  This one could have been avoided.  :smt010

I was at my brothers bachelor party(thats a whole other story) on saturday and we took the ferry from tiburon to the sf port - it looked brutal thru the gate - big current ripping through the straights
