I am fishing tomorrow but woke up early and couldn't resist:
Paddle Out

Tried some trolling to the tune of no success, nothing new there!

Finally switched over to worms.  Lost a few before I landed a nice SMB

Next up was a small Spot that I missed on his first strike, but got him on  the come back

And finished the day off with what looked like a hybrid small/spot:

A great morning on the lake!

Nice fish!  Hope you have a great "full" fishing day today.  Thanks for the report and pictures Roughster.

It was a great day yesterday in the Delta.  No keepers but we found fish and I hooked my 1st sturgeon.

Put in at Belden's Landing.  Got on the water around 9AM.  We planned on always findining the sheltered side of wherever we parked since the wind was vicious all day:

Set up shop in a small channel off of Montezuma Slough.  We fished Anchovies, Blood Worms, and Ghost Shrimp:

After about 1 hour of no-ting, not even a nibble, we moved back to the main channel where Poe landed the 1st fish.  It set the tone for most of the day, 12-14" striper:

I lost one at the same spot, but the bite pretty much came and went with that one pass.  Moved again to a new spot and saw a big snake swimming across the channel:

The bite picked up on the bloodworms.  Definitely was the bite of choice yesterday.  Angel landed 2 fish back to back:

I landed my first, and when I say 1st, I mean my first striper ever.  Definitely NOT a keeper  :smt003

We started getting a little nervous since of the 4 of us, only one hadn't caught a fish.  Worst case scenario and have been there before myself, it sucks.  But!  Fortunately Pete landed his 1st after we moved closer back to the landing:

As I was rerigging one of my poles, the one in the water, my 8lbs test rig, literally about jumped out of the boat.  I grab it, set the hook, and knew I had something decent size.  After bring it in, 2.5' White Sturgeon.  I asked my buddy to take a fish pics of me bringing it in.  This was the best:

LOL, oh well.  I got him to side and waited for Poe to grab the net, he came back with no net, no noose, no nothing for anything bigger than a minnow from the live tank.  This is where having a larger boat sucks.  It was almost impossible for me to reach him due to how we were parked and how the boat was sitting.  I elected for the heave/ho approach....SNAP.  Oh well, saved me the hassle of having to release him!  :smt044

It was my 1st sturgeon so I was also psyched 2 new fish species on the same trip.  No one got skunked so that to me makes it a great trip.  The boat ramp on the way back in was an adventure.  The wind had howled all day so the ramp was a nightmare of chop, waves, and swift current.  Poe got the boat in close, Pete did the Carl Lewis leap to secure and we all got drenched holding the boat while Poe got the trailer.

I wont complain at all!   :smt006
