Hope the weather is better for you than it was for me.  It was cold and rainy most of yesterday.  Today was sunny and fairly calm but it is supposed to rain the rest of the week.

I paddled to geriatric cove and back to Prattville--about 10.5 miles--for nada.

When I turned around near the dam and started trolling back two guy in a small boat that were inside of me started to turn out toward me.  I assumed they could see I had two trolling lines out and thought they would wait until I was well ahead of them before they crossed my wake.  But they just started out.  When I realized they weren't going to wait I tried to paddle as fast as I could to clear my lures.  But it was too late.  They hung up both of them and pretty near yanked one rod out of the yak.  Fortunately it was leashed and I was able to retrieve it.

Seems like people ought to know better, especially since they, themselves had been trolling.

Sounds like you weren't hammered enough.  Try drinking double-digit beers or at least a fifth of the hard stuff before interacting with Neandertals like that!   :smt005

Nice trout, and great to meet you @ GS4.  Have a good Summer - call when you're coming through Humboldt.   :smt001

I love the drive from Red Bluff (Have grand parents that live in Red Bluff just off 36) to Chester!  Did it for 17 seasons (Archery, Deer early 80's to late 90's) It's been a few years since I've done the drive, but I do remember it's a good drive, very scenic!  Can't say much for 36 the other way, never done it.
 Nice fish also!

The dude took me there on his boat.  Would have been more like 30 miles round trip to there!

Launch on the peninsula or near the branch, hit the A-frame and work toward Hamilton Branch.  I'd drive around to Geritol Bay, save the lake crossing risking the wind coming up and the long trip.

Did you check Butt?  A nice trip from there is to head down the north fork to Hwy 70 hitting the pull-outs along the way.
