Poke Pole

Got a new poke pole both as long as can be for transport in my car at a little over 10ft from the front window to the back of the trunk.   
As far as prep them for the wx should I pu a clear coat of anything on them... Might try making a gaff out of some of the material...

If you get some of that thick wire used for cyclone fences, clamp it to the pole, hammer the tip flat, drill a hole and attach a hook directly or to a short leader...  you can bend the wire to fit into cracks, etc...

Maybe not if kept indoors, but if kept outside it will get moldy without protection...  yacht varnish works.

Or, use it for a few years then get another pole

After each use, rinse it in freshwater and let it dry for a day outside, and then store inside. Or else after a few trips, the bamboo gets soft and starts to break and splinter.

ya know, that looks fun. And we got alot of good area for it.... As they say on Phineas an pherb "I know what we're gonna do today". Quick trip to the hardware store an I'll be in business
