So me the Gf and two other friends decided to head down to Monterey for the weekend to hang out and do some fishin. Sat, we get to FishermansWharf at 6:00 and start to unload. We see 3 other fellow kayakers launching from the beach as well, but never got to meet them! Talked to one of them out on the water and said he got 3 gophers and that was it! Fishing seemed to be slow where we were at all mornin, didnt see much action and got unfishable when that DAMN wind picked around 11. Got only 1 bite and fish to boat all mornin and to my surprise its a lil ling! Take a few a pics and let it go. We decided to call it quits around noon and head in for lunch! Talked to a Game warden at the boat launch who was checkin catches and said he saw only two salmon brought in and mostly limits on rockfish from the CoastGaurd station to point pinos, hmmmmm...
Sun Day2: So after a great night in monterey eating, drinking, and listening to a kool band play I decided to give it one more shot before leaving! Wake up late at 6:22 and tried to wake up the others but they were all tired and worn out from the night before! So get changed quick and out the door in a flash and on my way Solo. Thinking of what the game warden said the day before and where he said the fish were caught, i decided to head and launch from LoversPoint! Never launched there before so i wasnt sure what to expect. Get there and see a lil beach and stairs heading all the way down, weather nice, no wind, and definetly doable! Get OTW in about 40ft drop down and tap tap tap the bites begin! Miss the first few and finally get the first one in! A lil gopher! And then another and another and continued like that for the next 2 hours. Ended the Morning Slaughter in 2 hours with a full limit of Gopher Rf biggest being 13.75. Fish were caught on squid, sardines, and jigging! A lot of the fish including the ling i caught the day before were all throwin up squid! Sorry guys about the limited pics as i left and cant find my camera. All in all, it was a great trip and cant wait to go back!

Good one for getting back out there when the rest were RESTING!   I'm sure they'll pop-up like POPTARTS the next time you make a wake-up call! = classic!  :smt005

and they are NOT the scuz of the RF family. They are the "Elders" of the bottom world! = oldest and smallest.

Thanks for the clicks that did happen FW! :smt002
