Hi my name is Kuba and I'm looking for somebody who is intrested in spearfishing in tomales bay. I moved to Point Reyes Station last year and started diving towards the end of 2009 and now I'm looking for diving partner. If anybody is interested in please reply or call me 415 663 8398.

Welcome to the area!  I've never dived the area, but there are many divers here on NCKA.  There is also norcalunderwaterhunters.com dedicated to norcal diving.  Kirk "monkeyface" Lombard had an incident in that area last year diving, so check out the local knowledge there.  That post can be found at

Kuba:  I'm Dave Batt  546-6301 Santa Rosa boy.  I'm going to start hitting the mouth of Tomales early this year for halibut.  Especially after last weeks report from Ravenblack.  Kayak or boat.

I was thinking about going this Friday for clam/crab/halibut/ghost shrimp. The tide looks perfect but the weather looks like its gonna be BLOWING! I am not a fan of diving Tamales Bay due to shark activity...would rather do Sonoma.

IMO;outside the mouth of tomales is some of the sharkiest waters on the entire west coast. you will never see me diving there.

I had in mind diving closer to Marshals by Marconi center or even south of there. I don't want to dive anywhere close to the mouth of the bay.

WheelingWillie I would be intrested in going out on Friday what time you are planing to go? I ussualy work till 4pm but can get off earlier. Where in Sonom are you diving?

Low tide is -1.2 @0750. Would set crab taps early then go dig some clams. I cannot find large diameter PVC tube anywhere local to me. The only spot I have heard them sold is Gyserville. Too far for some plastic. I have a feeling the wind is going to be screaming through that bay. Might be wise to go some other time. I still havent decided.

I will let you know when bay clears up because right now viz is 0' due to the rains . I live by the bay so I will keep you posted. I'm hoping by the end of next week will be good.

I started kayak fishing to get away from most of you...
