Word...great deal.  Pentax warranty service is great too.  Last summer while snorkeling in Kauai some knucklehead <cough, me> took his too deep, which caused a breach of the waterseal & fried the lcd display.  Pentax sent me a whole new camera!

That said, have any of you W80 users figured out how to deal with the seemingly long lag between pushing the shutter button and the time the shutter actually does its thing?  I miss way too many good shots because of this... :smt009  Of course, it could just be operator error.  :smt002

Have you tried some of the other 'modes' such as the sport mode. I believe the shutter closes faster. Also make sure to be pressing down on the shutter button half way so you are pre-focused just prior to taking your shot. jim

Hi Banjotad,

Have you tried out your new camera yet?  How is it?  I'm also looking for a waterproof camera.  This one has mixed reviews on Amazon, but the members here seem to love their camera.

Thanks,

I bought the 33WR a few years ago. Takes terrible pictures (esp. under water) but did float which was cool.  Now the battery/SD slot door/cover has worn and won't make a watertight seal.  You got a good price but not the best camera...
