I've been reading lot about Stillwater South and was wondering what the access is like. SWS being in Pebble Beach, do I pay to get in? Where can I park my truck and offload the yak? I see that there is a big lot next to the building on Google Earth. Is it okay to park there? Thinking about fishing the place for the RF opener. Any answers will mu much appreciated.

$10 to get in..

you can unload near the club/beach, but they like you to move your car to the other lot after unloading.. Its gets really busy there for lunch, and its a tight space... all we can do is respect their space and rules so we can continue to go there trouble/drama free.

good luck!

I wanted to go out of stillwater as well on the opener but seeing that there is limited space to park and that there is already a good amount of us trying to launch from there, How likely is it to get a parking spot on opening day for say if u got there at Sunrise? Anybody? Im getting down there thursday nite in watsonville and planning on doing some scouting/baitfishing/hali/ghost fishin on friday before the Big Day to get a feel for things and to see wat is wat. I would HATE to drive and get down there to see that the parking is Full after i already paid! Me and guest are more likely to go out of the wharf on sat. if its going to be a mess and just fish my secret spot out in front of the beach!

The entry fee is higher than stated in this post but there's still good info here.  More too, if you use the "search" feature of the forum...

I just talked to the pebble beach people. There are no events scheduled for may 1.
There are several parking spots available along the 17th fairway. We are to use those of course, but there are also 2 at the launch, but try to leave those open for loading and unloading. As long as we stay out of the way, we have never had any trouble there.

A reminder, you won't get to go down there in mid june when the U.S. Open will be played there at Pebble this year.

Pebble Beach has the option to close the beach access for as many as 40 days a year, but has never used them all. Just during car shows, golf tourneys and the like.

Please be courteous to all patrons there. There are bathrooms for changing, so don't strip down in the parking lot, and as always clean up your trash.

The weather and the swells will most likely be a hindrance to most on the opener, so there is no anticipated crowd.

Let's do this

Andy, glad to see you are having such a good start on the year. I still think there might be two or three fish left there yet.

Stoggie

Stoggie is dead on here.  PLEASE if you do decide to go to Stillwater be very respectful and do not argue with the people working there.

Also, beware there are a couple MLPA zones which you should have a GPS to navigate around.

Conditions aren't looking very good at the moment  :smt011
