This reel is new.  It came attached to a rod I wanted/ bought at Big 5 the other day.  It has line on it from the store, no idea of #test or brand.

It's very nice of you offering a new reel for free.  I'm sure someone here can use this fishing reel.

Hi Stocked4Fishin:

Alan T. could use the reel for his Youth Fishing Program.

Thanks for letting me know about his program.  I know Alan, and will give him a call.

Hi Stoked4fishin:

Kids need to know we care about them! When I was young in San Diego living poor, all I had was the Bay and Fishing to keep it Together. :smt002

Hey Ernie,
I called Alan today, and made arrangements with him.  It's really neat what he's doing, and I'm glad to support however I can.  I remember when I was a kid fishing Santa Cruz and Big Sur.  Anything I could get my hands on was always appreciated.
Thanks for the tip, and take care.  Jeff

So funny! I just pulled the same number... that is, I bought a rod I wanted from big 5 (small price) and it had that same roddy hunker on it. Did you get a stroker? I've been collecting a few of these models from Big 5. Nice glass rods, built tough. I don't mind that they're heavy. I was stoked on the Surf Caster with a cork wrapped handle, which is the one that had the reel on it.

I was thinking of giving the reel away too. Which Allen is doing the kid thing?

Thanks for the correction Ernie.  Too many "senior moments" for me this week!  :smt003
