Thought this might help in some confusion if someone catches on in the future. Very abundant in the spring time at New Melones. Backs of v-shaped coves. Loves firetiger crankbaits. Angels Creek area in April-May have been my biggest producer for these weird fish.

They don't get very big. Biggest one I have caught is 13 inches.
