Full on skunk. Fished Friday and Sat. Friday I stayed inside the harbor/outer wall. The storm has some good size rollers and I was really wanting to get a feel for the new boat. I worked the area for 'hali's but no love (well I got one rock crab). I wasn't able to jig up any live bait so I used whole squid (that may NOT have helped). I also pounded the outside rock wall with the homemade jig (pic 1). I got a bite or two but nothing stuck. Sat the WX was better and I ventured out (to the south). I worked the area from the harbor mouth to the bouy in front of the port hueneme harbor. Again, no love. The water was pretty dirty. I cruised back inside when the wind picked up and worked the wall again. But again no takers. All in all I was just getting the shake down cruise with the new boat so the fishing was a bonus. I put 5 miles the boat on Fri and 7+ on Sat. I talked to three other yakkers on Sat and they had the same result. I watched the game warden pop two guys at the launch for some violation...I over heard one guy say 'jeez, its just 5 small fish' not sure what the deal was.

Thanks to Rhyak for the help. I look forward to a trip come summer time that place looks fishy!

How'd you like your new yak?  The water down there looks nice.  Thanks for the report and pictures Eric.

Sorry you didn't get anything.  I know the skunk all to well myself lately. I fished Carpenteria last weekend in perfect board short, bear foot conditions for one small bass.  It has been brutal here latley but warm water is on the way!  It will change and turn on soon.  We are fishing the islands this weekend and are keeping our fingers crossed. Tight lines.
I am sending you out as sheep among wolves.

Nice try Eric. I'm sure you weren't really fishing. You were having too much
fun pedaling all over the place. :smt005 :smt005 I can't wait for the feed
back on how you are liking your new ride.

I was ont he fence with the pants or board shorts. There was a slight breeze so I went with the dry pants. The boat was great way less energy to cover water. The things I noticed were

1. The standard seat was too low and 'floppy' so I am gonna swap it out for my seat on the T13.
2. The little mesh coverd trays on the sides are SWEET!
3. Storage is a bit lacking but not a major issue. I am guessing it would be more of a issue for a newb. I recall thining I needed to take everything when I started. Now I am more efficient in what I take.
4. The revo is a bit more 'tippy' the the T13. it will be intersting to see how it 'surfs' on a landing.
5. The lack of paddle in hand is so sweet but can suck when you want to nose in and out of structure. You just need to plan your attack (or have your paddle in you lap).
6. The sailing rudder upgrade makes that thing turn on a dime. I could do a complete 360 in less then two boat lengths.

Overall I am happy with the boat. It may become the go to ride.

As for the jog heads they are 1.5 ounces. I am gonna make a new batch of 2 oz ones. I rigged them weedless with a long curly tail grub and they didn't get hung up once. Should be fun the RF season. I could see them working great for pot holeing kelp

the water looks clear, too bad nothing had it's eyes/mouth opened.  the jigs look sweet and getting out with a new boat, in new territorry must have felt, very strange. Good on you for making the right clicks when needed. :smt002
