Got up early saturday, took a quick 5 minute drive down to the Santa Cruz harbor and unloaded my gear. As Im waiting to meet up with Stoogie, I realize I forgot my fishing License. Errrr... So when Stoogie pulled up, i was loading up and going back home to find it. Anyway found it, came back (stoogie had already paddled out), unloaded my gear again, and was one the way out the harbor. It was slightly bumpy in the morning and the paddle of to the Mile Buoy seemed to take FOREVER!!

Anyway made it out, met up with Stoggie and we drfited for Halibut just past the buoy. Heard Allen on the radio, but we never got to hook up. Beautiful day, but no Halibut! Had a great time enjoying the weather though. No bite other then a decent Vermilion which i quickly and safely released.

Few other yaks out there and more boats then i expected.

Good times.

It's still a miss or hit for Halibut until May I think.  Thanks for the report Brent.

Hope you're right.  If Hali fishing is anywhere as good as last year, we'll have a blast!

I spoke with Bocci yeaterday.  He's putting his receivers back in, and should have live bait at the SC harbor next week.
