3/19 - Hit lake Ralphine up for the last few hours of daylight and had quite a few hits with only one hook-up that didn't make it to the boat due to a barbless hook. The key seemed to be watching for boils and then using as small and light lures as possible to allow a slow retrieve and still have the lure run only a foot or so below the surface. Ended up using a tiny white marabou crappie jig for most of the hits, but stuck the one fish on a tiny silver/red needlefish.

3/21 - Hit Lake Sonoma with the tin boat and did well on bass (C&R) trolling rattle-traps and other small sinking lipless crankbaits slowly right up against the more open shorelines. Biggest was 17" and a few pounds. All were very fat so must have been pregnant females. Depth varied but lure probably ran 8'-12' under the surface. Used the bow-mount Minn Kota for a slow and stealthy presentation. Key was to run close to shore and avoid submerged timber in order to avoid snags.

Good Luck.
