This is JRONJ and I am heading to Point Sur to fish this weekend.  I will be fishing off Molera on Saturday evening, Sunday morning.  If anyone is available we will be there on the 19th and 20th.  The weather is iffy, but we are completely shut down in Estero Bay so we are urking to fish.  I ride a yellow Cobra Fish'n'Dive, my friend rides a white fish'n'dive. See you there.

I've been itching to get back down there for that WFO feeling. Looking forward to a report.

Well I got back Sunday night, we tried launching at Pfeiffer Beach but the swell was much to large.  Sunday morning we launched at Molera.  There was a good amount of swell, but they were spread out long interval.  The wind was calm, to slight offshore, the water was sheet glass and it was very hot out.  The red tide was very thick, the cabbies and the lings were mad.  They struggle with no air bladder.  There was only three lingcod landed, (25", 29", and a short), and one cabbie(18").
We hooked up with two nice size reds on the same kelp patch, in about 30' water.  The kelp beds outside of Molera are very plentiful.  We hooked up with some nice 3-4 lb. kelp rocks.  There were two 3.5' grass bass caught.  The blues were very good size, upwards to 3lb. There were blacks, massive black and yellow's, and massive schools of gopher's.  On more than a few occasions we hooked up very large fish that would not turn their heads, even on cajun, some are not meant to be landed.
The live bait was everywhere, lots of birds.  The kelp beds are very abundant, and very widespread into deeper water.  What a great experience.  I will be posting pics from trip in next few days.

Steve is right, you park on the one and trailer your kayak in to the river,(I stashed my trailer on the other side) and paddle down the river.  It is very nice to clean your fillet\'s off with fresh river water too.  I respected the surfers and filleted my fish in the river.  Very flat easy trail with one little hill and a couple of stairs to deal with at the beginning.  Enjoy, watch for freak set waves!
