I'd try a real good-quality RTV (one with Acetic Acid in it). 

I think that 2-part epoxy may not have the flexability required and will break prematurely.

I have used RTV for a variety of applications (such as attaching the transducer from my FF to the interior bottom of my Yak) and had real good success.
