Hi guys:

Just signed up. I'm from Carson City. Not really NorCal, but pretty close....

The better half and I have Tsunami 145's. Sit in Kayaks, I know, but we like them.

When we're out just paddling, We use them as we got them.

I've added a rod holder, and for grins, when we're fishing. I made a set of outriggers. modeled them after the Kayrak design. I didn't like the $500+ price for each outrigger, so I made my own.

Rolled the floats from sheet aluminum and TIG welded them together. Pressure tested and they're airtight.

These turned out lighter than the commercial KayRak ones. Total of mine is 25 pounds for everything.

We're going out to a local pond this weekend to try them out. Hope they work OK.

Welcome! I had a friend that lived in Carson City up until a couple years ago. We used to go down to Indian Valley Reservoir and fish quite often. Also, if you look around the site I think someone is working on a get together up at Pyramid Lake this spring.

Your rig looks great for the waters you have in the area. If you ever make it out to the coast you'll want to borrow a SOT.  :smt006

Welcome to the  :fishing2  madness.

I could have used your pontoon on Pyramid 2 months ago.

Hey Moose, I don't usually get political, but do the country a favor and vote for anyone but Harry Reid. I'm sick of seeing him on TV everyday.  :smt013

Funny you should mention Indian Creek. We were talking about it at work today. One of the guys in the office is figuring on going up there this weekend. Not a kayaker, he'll take his 12' Gregor. According to a local fishing report, you have to go in from below, the upper paved road is still snowed in.

As for fishing at the coast... I'm not too sure about getting in water where the fish are big enough to eat me! :smt098

(Actually we are planning on going to Moss Landing sometime soon.)

Welcome aboard Sam.  Let us know how your outrigger work out.  I think it's Shark proof!  :smt003
