It has been a while since I posted here, mainly due to poor weather, poor fishing and just lack of motivation . But spring is on its way and soon things will improve fish and weather wise. In other news there is going to be a meet in Kent, England,  3rd weekend in April . What's scary is that I am organizing it! What have I let myself in for  :smt005
So to the report, we launched from In attendance were Mike M , Mike S , Steve , Alex and myself .

It was bright clear and calm when we arrived at the sea front . Mike could clearly be seen a short distance off shore and after getting our yaks and equipment over the sea wall and dodging the bulldozers, we launched onto the flat sea .

As we go to Mike, Steve started heading out from the beach . We all exchanged greetings and then headed a little further out in search of deeper water. Anchoring up we all lowered our baits and soon were having bites . Mainly dogfish but a few dabs and whiting . I managed one good sized dab which I put back . I then immediately regretted this and vowed to keep the next good'n for my tea . Of course I didn't catch any more decent ones ::) .

Maidstonemike headed in first then Steve . The tide had begun to pick up quite a bit and Mike's anchor began to drag so he bungee'd off the bow of my yak . Alex was the next to go and as all we could catch were pin whiting we called it a day as well.

t was a great day to be out fishing , specially after all the grotty weather we have been having recently. It was nice to see Alex who I haven't seen for a couple of summers. ;D . Nobody blanked . The weather was fine and the company good who could ask for more ? 8-)
As per usual I will finish with the paddle back in with some music dubbed over the top. Some prog. rock with King Crimson today ::)

Would you be able to post pics of all the variety of fish that you guys catch? Just currious....

What do you guys consider a trophy fish? (A fish that everyone wants to catch and eat)

Thanks again for sharing your adventures!

That pin whiting could be interesting live hali bait.   (Oh right, you couldn't bring it over here, probably.)   Anyhow, always great to get an "exotic" report like this one.

Have not met Phil[northernboy] yet, but I am planning a few trips up to his part of the world later in the year, so it is on the cards.
For the pot we would target cod , bass , plaice and thornback ray depending on the time of year . For sport tope, skate and smoothhound would be on the cards. Well thats the theory, practice is somewhat harder.
