Don Eric B has an Albright and the quailty looked pretty nice. They have spinning rods too $129 http://www.albrightflyfish.com/conventional-rods/explorer-casting.html

Hey Don,

Having done this last year in Florida, my recommendation would be to take your favorite two piece (or two) and mail them to wherever you will be staying, unless you will be in a car the entire time.  I mailed three of my rods last year priority mail and they made it fast and safely. cost me $15 and they arrived the same day i did.

Also, most airlines will take your rods in a rod tube without additional baggage fee (standard 1 bag charge). Look up your specific airline to be sure of the restrictions.

You could also go to the closest walmart when you get there and buy a cheap $15 - $20 rod and donate it at the end of the trip.

I don't know too many 3/4 piece rods in the medium action range, most are ultralights.  bass pro does sell some cheap telescoping medium action ones though at $18/each.

I posted about the Albright rods Nov. 08 when they were closing them out at 67.50 ea.
bait casting , spinning and surfcasting rods. Someone mention there was no warranty but that did not stop me. I purchased 4 of the so far. I got to tell you these are exceptional rods.
I see the price has doubled now. Glad I got mine. Cabelas and Bass pro has travel rods also.

I've been a big fan of the Tsunami Travel rods for my Alaska trip.  But something tells me you want an inshore rod, maybe 8-17#.  Tsunami came out with a lighter rid this year.

Or if you want to bump up to 12-25#

They come in casting models too.  And they have one step heavier at 30-40#.

I have built 3 of them from blanks for saltwater fishing.

One was lost at sea.  :smt013 Yes they are good rods, but my Lamiglas rods seem to cast a little better. You can carry on a 2 piece 7' rod which brings up other options.
