Maybe I missed the announcement as I haven't been online much.  Is it confirmed that the salmon season will be closed this year?  A patient of mine told me today that he just heard that is the case but I couldn't find anything to confirm this. Only a few gloomy forecasts:

I don't think it is confirmed yet but they had lower returns last year compared to previous years they closed the season.

Ya I don't think it's been officially decided, but is MOST LIKELY.  In all honesty we may not ever fish Central Valley Salmon in the ocean again.
