My friend’s parents live in Discovery Bay and have been hammering the stripers.  I’ve been getting reports about every other day, but the last 2 days the quality got better.
Also, about 3 times in the past two weeks, the stripers have gone in to his cove (they live at the end) and the schools of fish were going top water crazy, thrashing the bait.  One AM, so loud that it woke them up.
They’ve had days of double digit fish counts, and limits are pretty much the rule.
They’re doing well both fishing off their dock and boat fishing.

On average, 3-5lb fish, with several a few in the 7-12lb range.  However, yesterday they got one at 16lbs and another one at 16lbs today.

Hmm, Sean, 30 more day’s of sweating it out.  Here’s a pict of yesterday’s fish.

Joe, I'm always ready!!!!

Unfortunately I'm either out of WAF, its a B-Day party or some other obstacle.

If I had every weekend free like the mooch, I'd ...............

OK, back to reality.  Sucks to be me.  B-day party this Sat.

I could be in for Sunday morning. It depends on if the wife makes me put up the Christmas Decorations and if I have a hang over or not. Don't know where to go if I can go.

Jason,

Discovery Bay is Kayak friendly, with a good deal of water under "no wake" restriction .  As you may know, it is a housing tract past  Brentwood that has endless channels and fingers to explore.  The water in the back coves stays warmer & cleaner than surrounding areas of the delta this time of year.  I have only fished it a couple of times.

The marina allowed me to launch without a charge when I went out last winter, so that is also a plus for the kayaker.

Anyhow - out of town this weekend - but with a post like that, I'm sure others will be out.

Joel,
I've caught crappie and LBM from their dock.  Also caught a catfish on a jig as well as a baby striper.

There, the tide makes a difference.  Fishing is much better on high tide, when the water level is up.

I got the invite to got out on Sunday, but if I go, it will be yakless.
