Had a great group show up today - Eric/eyeatbay,Greg and his son,Bill, Stuart, his wife Susan and daughter Sydney,Sam/sundowner and his dad.

Eric and I started out fishing the cove across the ramp - fish were still jumping around but it wasn't as active as it was last Thursday. We moved on to the cove right next to the picnic grounds and Eric manages to hook up his very first trout. :smt038  I followed his lead minutes after. We were both fan casting with cast masters. Stuart and family then radios in and we met up with them and headed towards the narrows. There, we meet Sam and his father getting a lot of action casting in 2 to 4 ft. of water. The bite got better and better and everyone was getting hits. Bill then radios in and he was on route towards the narrows. By the time he joined us, the action slowed down a bit. But the fish were still cruising around the area. The high light of the day was when Stu hooked on to a fish and he had his daughter Sydney reel in the trout. (he was on a tandem with her). She definitley displayed her game face and got the trout on baord = HU-RAH!!! :smt041

We paddled back around 1:30. What a day! Weather and company was awesome!  :smt023

Pics to follow!!

Thanks for letting me mooch tackle and fish off of you Mooch, you have trained me well! Great time on the water even though I was only out for a short time. Joel slayed them again with a limit of trout, one was pretty nice about 16".

Joel is a skillful fisherman. That means when you fish around him, he gets fish. Nevertheless, I see his actions and his magic lures, which only work for him though.

Thanks for letting me use your reel, rod and tackle. Good time of kayaking indeed.

Good to meeting Stuart & Bill & everyone.

Had a great time on Sunday.  My wife and Syd really enjoyed being on the water.  My master plan is slowly falling into place.  First, get the family addicted, then spend more time on the water.
This was my first time on the water at Stevens Creek and it was neat to paddle back into the “narrows” at the other end of the lake.  I’m glad Syd got to land a trout.  Truly made her day.  Other cool things that made the day special were seeing 3 turtles sitting on a log.  My wife also saw an osprey, dip down and catch a fish, then fly off with it.  Sure beats cleaning the garage.

Sam, his dad and Joel were getting quite a few hookups.  A lot didn’t stick, but they were definitely “ON”.  The rest of us pretty much lagged far behind. While on the bank, I could see a lot of fish swimming back and forth.  I think the bite shut down because these fish associated the lure flash with lip pain.

It was nice to meet all the other anglers on the board too.  Overall, a great day.

Joel,
Thanks for the picts and fish.  Its a sad when I have to "mooch" a few fish off you for a meal.  Oh well, back to casting school I guess.

no worries stu....consider this payback for those abs that I mooched off you at Still Water North  :smt023 It was nice to see "family fishing" for a change. Seeing Mother,Father,Daughter,Son enjoying a day out on the water is a beautiful thing  :smt023 I got so inspired that I will try to convince my niece (a city dweller) to fish with me next time.

Hey Mooch.... great pics as usual!  It looked like a perfect day at the lake.  It's always a fun option when the ocean's blown out.

I'm glad everyone had a blast.

Looks like a fun day.  I paddled my kids around in the front of a Pro 2 many times.  Enjoy the trout!
