Anybody want to go crabbing out of HMB one of these days? Maybe Sunday? Also, how much does a good crab pot (small enough for a kayak but big enough for a lot crabs) run?
I have one that has the doors that open up when it hits the bottom, but the doors don't always open. I want something better...
May the fish be mighty and the seas be meek...

I have a couple if collapsible boxes and old hoops that both seem to work well.  I also have a couple that attach to a fishing rod.  I've never used them but I’ll gonna try.

I wonder if I'd get in trouble if I was fishing for rockfish and crabbing with a trap on a pole.

Oh, but not this weekend!

Hey Mol I will let you use my traps and you can go out without your wetsuit. Split the catch 50/50  :smt003

Crap...oh well. I'm tempted to go out and buy a small commercial grade pot. The one I have now has the trap doors that open when you drop it and close when you pull up, but they don't always open. I was crabbing shallow water once, and could see crabs crawling all over it - they couldn't get in because the damn doors hadn't opened.

Anyway, 20 feet sounds a little sketchy.
