I tried for largemouth all day on Dec 2.  Caught this two pounder in the first half hour split-shotting a floating tube.  Only a couple of bites for the rest of the day, but I spent a lot of time looking around the lake and enjoying my new pro angler.  I really can stand and cast comfortably in it, as long as I don't move my feet.
I slept in my car the night before, and my yak was covered in frost and ice in the morning.  It was not as much fun as I remember it being in my 20's.
Anyway, it was a beautiful day on the water, and I hope to see Clearlake again before my mussel inspection sticker expires Dec 31.

Nice ride, and that is great that you can put it on the top of the car!   Were you the one waiting for the wheels to come in earlier this week?

Hell you could probably put the car on the kayak and ride it home.  Sweet boat.

Did you install the "hand rails" afterward or they're part of the yak when you bought it?

Maybe, but I am not sure if I could drive the Yaris up beach to the parking lot at Lindamar.
  Sailfish,
The handles came with it, along with cart, a dry bag and some waterproof plano boxes.

 Otobepelagic,
I plan to return to clearlake in a week or so, and I'll be driving through
Santa Rosa to get there, so let me know if you want to meet somewhere and try mine out.

congrats on your PA Opie!  you will love it!  the only thing I don't like about mine is the weight.  did you know there is an updated steering drum to make the steering need less input?
BTW, my PA is the same color as yours.

Hi Atavuss,
Yeah, I got the new drum in the mail but I haven't put it in yet because I enjoy the super tight turning radius. I'm going to wait and see how people like the new drum before I throw mine on.  My inability to just set the rudder in the straight position (except occasionally, by luck) is a little frustrating.
