This looks like a good product for repairing our kayaks.  Let me know what you think...

Depending on how tough it is, it might make a nice/easy skid plate on a river yak.

I was looking for a skid plate for the rear of my Revo.  I tried to find a local Rec Repair dealer with no luck.  If anyone has used the product or knows of a local source, please post.

It looks like in the pic the removable skin that covers the adhesive area has a 3m logo on it. I will ask the 3m rep for our bodshop as to what the material is and report back.

I have used rec repair on a kayak that had a hole in it from being dragged on the ground. It is kind of tricky (first try was ruined), a one shot deal. I used my propane torch to heat it up while holding the patch with a welding glove. Dont over heat it. I think that it would work best on a warm/hot day, as I did it when it was cold I didnt have a lot of working time. Also I ran the torch over the area on the yak to be repaired too.

All in all a very interesting product, it was even recommended by the yak manufacturer.
If you're not living on the edge - you're taking up too much space!

call Aquan Sports in San Carlos (650) 593.6060 - I'm almost sure they have 'em there (and you get 10% off for being an NCKA member)

I called and talked with Matt.  They do have the product, they have used on their boats, and they recommend it.

Talked to a different Matt today but they seem to be interchangable. He is mailing me a 5"X8" sheet of Rec Repair and hw gave me the NCKA discount.  I will post when I finish the "keel guard" project.
