Had the day off so I hit the lake for a few today.  Gorgeous weather and the water didn't get too dirty with the big storm.  Found lots of fish stacked up at the buoy line, but way to deep to troll.  Jigged plastics and kastmasters.  Finally got bit on a Zoom fluke on a jighead.  Typical Mendo fish...about 26 inches and 7-8 pounds.  Great fighter released to fight another day.

Pic complete with "hobbit feet"  :smt019

Nice.

What are the odds of Bendo at Mendo II soon?

Next event at Mendo is the April SBA Tourney.  I plan on over-running the event with yaks and stealing the glory from the pbs...or at least thats the fantasy.  The bite is still slow, but better than dead.

Thanks for the report Sean, I was headed up tomorrow. Guess I will wait another week.I 'll go to Lake Sonoma instead, hear the Steelhead are on the surface in the AM. April tourney sounds great let us know the dates, I will definitely be there. I was at my place in Healdsburg over the week end and saw a few spawners holding in the tailout 1 was huge 40 plus. Hows the counting going?
Group IQ is inversely proportional to the size of the group.

A Steelhead always knows where he is going, but a Man seldom does.

Counting is going good, but we had a HUGE push of fish the last two days and the water is too dirty for my cameras, we are well of 2000 chinook now.

Hey Sean, other fishheads, I found Kings on the S. Fork Eel today. They weren't hitting but tomorrow is another day.
It was a gorgeous day, and tomorrow sounds like a repeat.
Keep on fishing!
Juan
