Thanks for the message dave, will check with wife. Trying to get her on the water with me so I will have to pick somewhere with guaranteed action. I heard the stripers have slowed down a bit over there but good luck!

Hi Dave,
I wish I could make it but there's still too much to get done before Christmas.  I think my fishing may be over for a few weeks.  I mounted my FF transducer just forward of the mast tube in a cut out piece of an old Boogie Board.  The size of the Boogie Board worked better than a pool noodle for me.  It has worked fine and the issue of potential bubbles from the mirage drive has never surfaced.  I really like having the FF mounted on the side of one of the mesh pockets rather than in the mast hole.  It sits much closer to the seat for better viewing and access to the buttons.  I used a small Ram mount and screwed it directly into the side of the interior wall of the pocket.  There's still plenty of room in the pocket for stowage and the Ram mount isn't in the way.  I'm still using 8 AA batteries in an Otter box and it works fine for three or four days of fishing.  I use the cheap Costco Alkaline batteries, rather than mess with rechargeables.

Dave,

Any luck or suggestions?  I am hoping to get out at Laurtzens and work into the Break one day this week.  Is the water too cold for trolling?
