Finally got off my butt and picked up some 2500s for the 67 combo.  I got Energizer 2500 4 packs with a charger for 16.00 at Friedmans, seemed like a  good deal. First charge was SCARY...only about 4 hours of run time.  :smt017  Recharged them again and they have been running between 9.5 and 10 hours with the ff and GPS simultaneously.  Much longer than the regular AAs and good to go the next morning.  So far so good!

That is typical of rechargeable batteries.  The very first charge will not hold much, so discharge it then recharge it again.  Kind of like a balloon, you need to stretch it first before you can really fill it up with air.
