was able to get out Thanksgiving morning, smallies on my mind.  my butt was still hurting but went there anyways. :smt001
got to the water right after first light & saw fish were jumping.  I started trolling broken-back rapalas & 3 mins in "boom" fish on.  bring it to the yak & I couldn't believe my eyes, it was a chinook!?!?  ~15ft of water w/ deep diving small broken-back.  1st chinook ever in the lake or even on a yak.
kept trolling, got a small trout & released.  another trout a lil bigger, so I kept it.
got another good hit & it was a pikeminnow.  went into the cove & kept trolling got a funky hit...  started reeling in then the kayak started moving that way.  I thought it was snagged or something but I felt some wiggle... :smt012  I kept reeling slowly & moving the kayak to that direction.  I saw a bird at the end of the line (bird again)...  but this time I actually snag the line that the bird was already caught on & the line was tangled on one of the buoys.  I got my lure out of the line & pull the line to bring the bird close to me.  of course the bird tried to attack me again, so I tried to get as close to the bird as I could & cut the line & released it. :smt002
fish stopped jumping, so I tried to look for bass, but couldn't find them. :smt012  another small trout w/ minnow & released.
got back & had Thanksgiving dinner & passed out.
next night, got tired of left over meat so cooked the salmon w/ left over pasta.  looked good, but the salmon wasn't that good...

Way to save the bird.  That's some good diversity of fish.  Is that a new jacket?   I like it, I gotta get me a winter jacket.

Thanks, guys!

Freddie, I went out from Capell cove & got fish inside the cove.  The boat launch was remodeled, so it has a nice place to unload the kayak without bothering PBs.

Danglin, yes you're right.  right about the time the sun passed the hill the fish stopped jumping & biting...

Craig & Jed, that was my 1st salmon in the lake & totally surprised me (in ~15ft of water), so can't help you there, but I finally got one legal size smallie this evening.

Allan, I injured my tail bone & I'm still recovering. and also I got swine flu a couple of weeks ago &  it was bad...  but I'm getting better now.

look forward to fishing w/ you guys again!!! :smt006
