Matt, I'm inspired by you!  At a mininum, i'll be focusing on making a bunch more jigs for next year at home instead of buying them!  Thanks for sharing, and keep it up!  :smt003

Hi Al!  Look forward to seeing what you come up with.  We will have to try them at Shelter Cove!  I have had good luck forming lead molds from Bondo.  You can't production pour, but it works great for a few at a time.  I am doing some 6oz butterfly jigs with a mold I made.  Not store perfect, but they look pretty good and cost pennies on the dollar.  I got some stainless wire to make my own harness inserts now as well.  That should save even more money.

I went to order some new plastic today and found a nice squid mold.

It is only 10.00 for a nice RTV mold. It makes a 5 3/4" long squid and looks just like my little clay squid.  Funny how similar lures end up looking to one another.  I guess there are only a few ways to make a creature lure.  This looks a lot like the p line squid.  I bet if I cut off the arms and plastic welded a tube skirt on the bottom, it would be a dead ringer!  I am going to research it a little more, but it looks like i may buy one and try it out.
