Be sure to get that receipt for your $8.50... After you limit, head to any
place (within 17 mile dr.) that accepts cash. They credit you that $8.50
you spent at the gate towards your purchase. For me, it's up to the
General Store for a sandwich & a beer...

I'm pretty sure EVERYONE should take advantage of this one...

Look forward to more updates from the cove. Coast Guard Pier has been
good to me lately, between 15 and 40 ft. , use whole jack smelt and just
hold on!!!

Thanks onlyzero, wish I knew about that credit last weekend.

Which Coast Guard pier are you refering to?  I may head out to Monterey again this weekend.

It's called San Carlos Beach.  On weekends its choked with diver certifications.  Weekdays it is nice.

What'cha been catching there onlyzero?  It's my favorite sand dab spot.

Pat's on it..."S.C.Beach". Guess I've lived hear too long... Pat, what I'm
finding are many, many Blues. 4" to 16". Of course China's, Cabs etc.
@ varied depths. Almost random as to when bite is best, but generally
fish are there.

My deal lately has been drifting big, whole baits, 4-5 ft. off bottom in
between 15' to 40'. Hold on... Rod holder = broken rod... and I'm not
talking about the "fur bags". They of course run "out" and then "up" to the surface. Can't  loosen drag either, these guys get back to rocks before
I even notice that I can't see 2/3rds. of my pole!! It's great work!!
