Awhile ago I held a Poker Tournament to raise $$ for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, and the "Grand Prize" was me taking you out fishing for a day.  My buddy Joe won and finally cashed in yesterday.

Joe, his Brother in Law Gabby, and I went out on a Rental Skiff from Capitola Boat and Bait and started over at ShipRock by the Cement Boat. Caught and released a bunch of little guys and got a couple nice keepers. Then we headed back to Capitola Reef to meet our friends Freddy and Pedro on their Tandem Kayak. They had already paddled half-way to the Cement Boat, so they held on to the side of the skiff and we gave them a ride back over to the kelp!!!  :smt044

Had a ton of fun, trash-talking, beer drinking, fishing, crabbing and enjoying being out there with my buddies. Everybody caught plenty of fish, released plenty of babies, and we got enough decent sized ones to bring home to have the families over to my house for an end-of-season celebratory FishFry.

We ordered up the Pacquiao-Cotto fight, filled the icechest with beer, and gorged ourselves on fresh fish and boiled RockCrab, while the kiddies all ran around and played...GOOD TIMES!!!!!

Here are some pics of the OTW fun.

Sincerely,

Jim

Thanks guys!!!

Elongatus, the starfish were for Joe's three year old niece, I guess she is a big fan of Patrick from SpongeBob....
 :smt001

They crawled into the crab-ring and Joe wanted to bring them home for her...I guess you can dry them out and keep them as decoration???

I don't think they are edible!!!

Anyway, thanks again for the kudos...I really appreciate it, and look forward to fishing with you and other NCKA folks in the future.

Sincerely,

Jim
