I'm thinking of a Stump Beach dive this week, but don't know if there is a gate at the parking lot. I know some of the state park access points will be locked up from now until June - does that include Stump Beach?
Thanks.

Yeah, I saw the note on the Salt Pt conditions page, just call'em on Monday, 707-847-3221.

Closing the day use lots doesn't seem to make allot of sense in terms of saving money, unless it's a liability thing, just put up a note, No services, no restrooms, and let it go at that.

Thanks Dale - I'll call them tomorrow. I just can't remember if Stump has a gate or even a bathroom or any facilities other than parking. I think it's free so I don't see what the point in locking it would be.

I searched around the net a bit yesterday and couldn't find any info other than the note on the conditions page, and I called, sometimes they answer on weekends, but not yesterday,

Post up your findings, I may need to find new places for that last crap before I climb into my suit.  :smt002

I don't see a gate here, do you?  Not the clearest pic and not the best zoom though.

There is a pull out with parking for several cars across the street from the entrance to the Stump Beach parking lot. I believe there is a hiking trail head there that I've seen people parking all day with no problems. jim
